PRACTICE AND GAMES

Prior to the start of season, teams usually practice once or twice a week. During the season, Divisions 6 will have one game per week. Divisions 8, 10, 12, and 14 will have two games per week. There may be a need to schedule an extra game during the week in the event of a postponement of a scheduled game due to weather.  Every effort should be made to have players at each practice and game on time with the appropriate equipment.

RULES

American Softball Association (ASA) rules are used, with individual NSGSL variances allowed. Each division has its own set of rules. The rules are reviewed and revised by the Board of Directors on an annual basis and are provided to the management before the season begins. UNIFORMS

Each girl receives a team shirt, socks, and cap. Uniforms are to be worn at all games with shirts tucked in. Each girl needs to have their own helmet with faceguard (ASA approved). Batting gloves, sliding pants, and pads are recommended for girls in Divisions 10, 12, and 14.

SOFTBALL PLAYER CLINIC

Division clinics will be held to instruct the girls in basic skills and good form. The clinics are run by Torrey Pines High School softball coaches. All players are encouraged to attend.
