President's Message

President's MessageMission StatementLeague OrganizationBoard of Directors

Are you ready?   Dust off your gloves, bats, and helmets because the 19th season of North Shore Girls Softball kicks off in January 2008.   We have assembled a strong Board of Directors who is diligently planning the upcoming season.   In the spring of 2007, we fielded 36 teams with over 400 players.   We hope to increase the number of players this year while enhancing the overall experience for the girls.

Organized softball enjoys a special sports tradition within our community.  Over the years, North Shore has mirrored the community's growth and earned a reputation for providing a safe, encouraging, and fun environment for our players and their families.   As noted in our Mission Statement, North Shore is committed to being player-centered, with one of its primary purposes being the enhancement of each girl's self-image.   Our focus is to create positive athletic experiences for each player with the expressed purpose of enhancing her overall physical, emotional, and social development.

North Shore’s success in meeting those goals is due to the special group of girls who have played in the league over the years along with the tremendous volunteer and sponsor support that we have enjoyed.   So, I want to offer a special thank you to our board members, managers, coaches, team parents, sponsors, and other volunteers – past, present, and future – who provide time, energy, and enthusiasm to North Shore’s softball program.   We appreciate your efforts and couldn't do it without you!

I want to also take this opportunity to remember Karen Bulatao who died of cancer last spring.   Karen was one of the early visionary leaders of North Shore who served tirelessly and unselfishly over a number of years while three daughters progressed through the league.   Her dedication, wisdom, and spirit will remain with us as a constant reminder of the important role we play in the lives of our children.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments about the league.   Enjoy the season and I’ll see you out on the field!
