8U, 10U, and 12U Required Player Evaluations

Pitchers & Catchers

If your daughter would like to pitch and/or catch this season, she must declare her intent at the evaluation. A separate and mandatory pitching and catching evaluation will take place following the regular evaluation on January 7th.  Players declaring as pitcher and/or catcher should attend the second evaluation session/timeslot for their respective division (if applicable) given the extra assessment required.

If a player does not declare as a pitcher and attend the mandatory evaluation, by league rule the opportunity to pitch during games will be restricted. No prior pitching or catching experience is necessary in order to declare.

Team Formation for All Divisions

Team formation will occur by Sunday, January 12, 2025. Team Managers will make introduction and coordinate next steps following that date.

Registration is now open for the 2025 Spring Recreation season!

Players are assigned to a division based on their birth year. For Spring 2025, the age groups are:

• 6U: September 1, 2017 through August 31, 2019 - $125  
• 8U: September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2017 - $325
• 10U: September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2015 - $325
• 12U: September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2013 - $325
• 14U: September 1, 2009 through August 31, 2011 - $325

*IMPORTANT NOTE* Effective September 1, 2023, USA Softball changed the birth year classification for each age division.  North Shore is affording those players born between September 1 and December 31, who have completed 2 years in their current age division, the choice to remain in the same age division (for a third year), or move up to the next age division if desired.  This annual election will be effective for all recreational seasons (Spring, Select/Tide, All-Stars) through August 31, 2025.  You will be required to make this declaration when you submit your registration for Spring Recreation.

WHAT ARE THE KEY DATES?

Registration for the Spring 2025 Recreation Season is now open. All registered players will receive a free T-shirt. Final registration deadline is December 31, 2024. No refunds will be provided after January 15, 2025.

Teams are formed and practices start in mid-January.  Games begin February 1, 2025 and finish at the end of season recreation tournament in April. The North Shore All-Star Season for 8U to 14U Divisions starts the first week of May and traditionally runs through July.

• December 31: Registration Deadline
• January 7: Player Evaluations for 8U, 10U and 12U  

*Please note 6U and 14U do not require evaluations

• January 9: Make-up Evaluations if January 7 is Rained Out
• January 31: Opening Night Ceremony
• February 1: Opening Day Games
• March 22: Picture Day
• April 25-27: End of Season Recreation Tournament
• May 1: All-Star Tryouts 8U to 14U
